We all know that exercising is very important, especially now most of us work from home, haven’t been able to go to the gym for quite some time and spend a lot of time at home. But often we don’t feel very motivated to go out and exercise. Spending an evening on the couch instead of going to the gym sounds a lot more fun, right? Still, it pays off to move regularly because it has a lot of benefits!

You feel less stressed

As you move, you focus on your breathing and on the movements you make. This automatically causes you to quiet your mind. Moving is not only good for your body, but also for your mental wellbeing. In addition, your body makes endorphins while moving and these hormones fight off stress hormones and make you feel physically stronger.

Your sleep will improve

Having difficulties with sleeping? Moving more and regularly also has a positive effect on your sleep. Not only do you fall asleep faster, the quality of your sleep also improves. Please note that exercising just before going to bed works against you. Sports make you feel more energetic, of course you do not want that right before going to bed.

More energy!

You’re already familiar with this, but you’ll get more energy from moving. If you have a day when you have little energy, it would feel more tempting to stay  on the couch. Nevertheless, it is probably better to get up and move, even if it’s only 30 minutes . This gives you an energy boost and you can also be proud of yourself because you went to the gym/did some exercise .

A boost for your self-assurance

By moving more regularly, you are more likely to feel comfortable in your skin. You do not only feel more confident because exercising creates hormones that make you feel good, but you also look better. Movement ensures good blood circulation, which makes your skin look fresher and improves your posture.
