Nature calms me down. Especially when its ancient or huge. Ancient forests and ancient overgrown civilizations. Huge mountains, waterfalls or salt flats. The bigger the better. The older the better. Why? Because they radiate peace.

Let me explain

When you meet our ancient earth, your life gets very simple for a little while. We are an invisible spot in the millions of years our earth exists. Our time does not exist opposed to ancient nature. You do not have to make quick decisions and be opinionated about everything, overthink everything. You do not have to be something. You already are. Just like nature. You are.
And, how small are we compared to all our natural phenomena? Almost null. Surrounded by such grandeur, I realize time and time again that I do not have to do anything. I am good the way I am. It gives me an incredible sense of peace. A feeling of happiness.
My everyday life feels all but simple. I am able to feel joy deeply, however find life to be quite a fight. A fight that, even when things seem calm for a while, seems to always be waiting in the dark.

That’s why I go back to nature every time. To ground myself.
