What you eat has a lot of influence on how you feel. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with an occasional cheat day with pizza, chips and chocolate. However it’s important that you know what food can do to your body. Proper nutrition also helps you maintain your energy.

Carbohydrates for energy

An important source of energy for the body are carbohydrates. Do you notice that you have little energy? The fastest form of healthy energy is fruit. Bananas and oranges are good sources for a quick energy boost. In addition to the fact that fruit is often the healthiest option, you also have longer energy from fruit than artificial sugars. This is because the sugars are wrapped in fruit fiber and delivered to the body for a longer period of time.

Combine fibers and proteins

In addition to carbohydrates from fruit, you can combine fibers and proteins. Fiber of whole wheat such as knäckebröd, muesli or bread combined with some yogurt, milk or hummus are good fuel for your body. You will be full with saturated fibers and proteins, and you will feel energized longer because this combination keeps your blood and sugar level in balance.

Importance of drinking

For some people it goes without saying and others have to force themselves to work 1 glass of water inward. But do not underestimate the importance of staying hydrated! Drinking enough also provides you with energy. Try to drink at least two liters of (tap) water a day.
