Multiple studies

Question
Vraag

Hi,

I’m 16 years old, I’m looking to study at an acting school {cinema} and a music school {sound development} in the morning and afternoon. And in the evening I want to study regular subjects at home online or with a private teacher. My question is how to do it and is it possible? I just don’t see myself learning normal things and not doing what I really want to accomplish in life. Thanks {I live in Israel}.

Hi,

Thank you for your question! It is important to reach out for support or help when we are struggling with something.

You are hoping to study acting and music at the same time as studying regular subjects but also mention that you do not see yourself learning the regular subjects as this is not in line with your goals and values. You want to know if this is possible and how you could do this.

While it is possible to do this, pursuing your passions while managing your studies can be challenging. It is important to consider what is important for you and take into account your own limits and abilities.
It can be helpful to create a schedule and manage your time effectively. Keep track of your deadlines and plan in sufficient time to prepare for them and rest in between.

Remember to seek support and ask for help if you need it. It can be helpful to communicate your situation to those around you. This will help them to understand your situation and provide you with the appropriate help.

Be aware of the signs of when you are too stressed or going over your own limits. Do you feel tired or overwhelmed? Do you get a headache? Make sure to take enough rest and take care of yourself. Be comfortable saying ‘no’ when it is needed. Take regular moments to relax, eat well and be sure to make time for activities you enjoy!

It is about finding a good balance. You can discuss your concerns and goals with your parents and teachers and come up with a plan that works best for you.

I hope this helps.

Kind regards,

Martijn
