Registering panic attacks


It is important to register your panic attacks during your treatment. You can do this in the form of a diary registration or in step one of the thought record using the NiceDay app.

Describe the events that led to the panic attack or unpleasant feeling.

Was the attack expected or unexpected?

Did the attack persist or not? Which physical sensations occurred? (e.g. palpitations, sweating, tremors, breathlessness, chest pain, nausea, dizziness, feelings of unreality, fear of losing control, fear of dying, tingling, feeling hot or cold)


What were your thoughts?

Describe the automatic thoughts that occurred.

How credible were these thoughts on a scale of 0-100?


What did you do?

How did you react when you had the panic attack?


What was the consequence?

How panicked were you?

Completely panicked / very scared / scared / a little scared / not scared at all.
