Exercise: Anxious expectations

read

Engaging in an exposure exercise can be very scary. Therefore, it is beneficial to consider your anxious expectations in advance so that we can evaluate them and include them in the exercises. Create a diary entry in NiceDay and complete the following sentence:

“When I perform the exposure exercise, I am most afraid that I …………….”

This could be, for example: “… am going crazy”, “… cannot handle the anxiety”, “… lose control”, “… have a panic attack”.

How strongly do you believe that your anxious expectation will come true? Write this down on a scale from 0-100%.

Afterwards, evaluate whether your anxious expectation has come true. How strongly do you still believe in your anxious expectation (0-100%)?
